The course is being held locally in Tonbridge. The exact meeting place will be given at time of booking.
Where is the course being held?
How do I book onto a course?
How much does the course cost?
The course costs £50 for four sessions and includes hire of top quality poles. Please see Join a Nordic Walking Course for more information.
How fit do I need to be?
Nordic walking is accessible to anyone and everyone who can walk. The course accommodates all levels of fitness and is delivered at a pace that encourages good understanding and development of the technique.
Do I need to have my own poles?
Pole hire is included in the course fee, but if you have your own poles you can join the course at a reduced rate. Please contact me for details.
How many people to a beginner’s course?
The course takes a maximum of 12 people, although there are only eight sets of Nordic Walking poles, so anyone wishing to join once eight have signed up, would need to provide their own poles.
What shall I wear?
You will need to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for the weather. If it’s likely to be dry (and dry underfoot), trainers or sturdy flexible soled walking shoes are desirable. If a particularly wet day is expected, it is advisable to wear water-resistant or water-proof footwear. A hat, and gloves preferably with palm grip (not thick ski gloves) or fingerless gloves with grip, will help keep you warm on cold days.
It is recommended to bring multiple layers of clothing for exercising outdoors, including a waterproof top layer, and a change of socks and shoes for travelling home.
Do you cancel a class if it rains?
A class would only be cancelled if thunderstorms, high winds or heavy snow were forecast - ‘act of God’ weather.
